What is the signature Doyenne fit?
The bootcut Doyenne sits at the waist and opens toward the hem. It is designed to flatter the hips and create an elongated silhouette. Front patch pockets give it its recognizable look. The Dark Wash is listed as stretch denim and true to size.
How to read your size label
Our jeans pair a European size with an American denim size label. For example, 38/25 identifies European 38 and American denim 25. These are size labels, not a promise that the garment waist measures 25 inches.

R means Regular; L means Long. A label such as 38L/25 combines your size and length. Available sizes vary by style and wash. The paired denim labels apply to jeans; coats use their own European size labels.
Regular or Long?
The current Dark Wash product specifies a 34-inch Regular inseam and a 36-inch Long inseam. Its Long version includes two additional inches concealed in the hem for professional alteration up to 38 inches. Check the length details for your chosen wash rather than assuming every Doyenne is identical.
Try the jean with the shoes you intend to wear. A heel and a flat can need different hems. Choose a length that gives you the line you want while keeping the hem clear of the ground.

Sit, walk and bend. The waistband should feel secure without digging in; the hips should allow comfortable movement.
