A beautifully chosen coat makes the rest of the wardrobe feel considered. The Wellington brings Alvin Valley’s tailored point of view to outerwear, with a sculpted silhouette, a wool-cashmere blend and lambskin leather details.
It is a finishing layer for city days, country weekends and evening. Start with the Wellington collection, then choose the color and fit that work with the clothes you already love.
Choose your size around your layers
The current Wellington range uses European coat sizes 34, 36, 38, 40 and 42. These are coat sizes; the paired American denim numbers used on jeans do not apply.
Think about what you will wear underneath. A blouse and fine knit need less room than a heavier sweater or tailored jacket. When trying on a coat, check that you can move your arms comfortably and close it over your intended layers without pulling across the chest or back.
For personal guidance, send our team your usual coat size and the layers you intend to wear. Ask for measurements for the specific size if you are comparing it with a coat you already own.
Choose a color from your wardrobe
- Navy: pair with indigo denim, ivory knits and polished black footwear.
- Brown: build a rich palette with camel, chocolate and cream.
- Ivory: wear over tonal neutrals, or bring lightness to dark denim.
- Taupe: soften a wardrobe of black, navy and warm neutrals.
- Baby Pink: add a gentle color accent over charcoal, navy or ivory.
- Wine: bring depth to chocolate, camel and black.
Check the selected color and size for current availability.
Three ways to wear the Wellington
For the city: layer Navy over a fine knit and Doyenne Dark Wash jeans. Choose the jean length around your boot or heel.
For a country weekend: pair Brown or Taupe with camel denim and a simple knit. Keep the layers comfortable so the coat can move with you.
For evening: wear Ivory or Wine over black separates or a Doyenne Leather Jean. Let the contrast between wool, leather and a softer top give the look its texture.
Care for the complete garment
Follow the garment’s care label and tell your cleaner that the coat includes lambskin details. The wool-cashmere body and leather trim need to be considered together; avoid choosing a cleaning method based on the main fabric alone.
